Loved finding this hidden gem in the middle of the mountains last summer. It immediately became my favorite new restaurant when visiting Lake Almanor. We returned several times throughout the fall and couldn't wait to get back to the lake this summer to enjoy more culinary experiences at The Sandpiper. It's so clear that chef Jack takes great pride and care in determining what to include in each dish and how they are prepared. Jack has designed a menu full of creative pairings using fresh ingredients, flavorable balance of spices, and elevated finishing touches and presentations. Every meal continues to exceed my expectations. If there is a special of the day, it is an absolute MUST have and ALWAYS delicious. The family owned restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with attentive, friendly service. I've noticed lots of repeat customers walk through the doors each night. I will absolutely be back again and again. I highly recommend this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. P.S. Please don't tell my grandma that Jack's homemade apple pie is my all time favorite!

Did not know this place was here...put in breakfast near me and found ourself at this cure little spot....fresh , homemade ..delicious breakfast. Breakfast burrito and hashbrown casserole! Next time we will stop for lunch!

We had an outstanding experience at this restaurant!
The food was delicious - we took a variety of options and all of them were amazing!
The host said that this restaurant is new and they wanted to give new experience for people, their chief took New York restaurant inspiration and created a unique menu.
We enjoyed all of the aspects of our visit - service was attentive, food was amazing and the atmosphere was very cozy.

We just made in time for dinner at this place. We were almost lost in the woods and was hoping to get something to eat. The host was amazing. The food tasted better than most of the 5 star rated restaurants. Definitely a must visit for someone visiting around this place.

We stopped in at the Sandpiper after a day of sailing the lake. What a fantastic unexpected surprise! The food was outstanding! Service was excellent and the atmosphere of this little restaurant tucked away in the trees was perfect for us! I will never take a trip to Almanor without stopping to have a meal at this restaurant. Absolutely the best seafood in the Sierra Mountains.

Having dinner here was one of our favorite overall experiences at lake Almanor! The food was nothing short of amazing (we had the tortilla soup, salmon, fire roasted chicken and apple pie). The service was impeccable as was the friendliness of the staff. Highly HIGHLY recommend!

Super accommodating to our group of dirty archaeologists that walked in at the end of the day and wouldn’t stop ordering food. Genuinely one of the best meals of my life- the Argentinian chimchurri steak was incredible, potatoes gratin, baby carrots and brussel sprouts were so amazing we couldn’t stop ordering and the staff was lovely. I’ll come back here anytime and recommend this to anyone in the area.
