Wonderful, phenomenal...
I was out of town while my 14 year old border collie, Pepper passed away last week. It was sudden & unexpected as she was perfectly healthy for her age. Pepper has been with me half my life. The longest we've been apart is while I was deployed.

The outstanding senior doggy care center where I left her while I was away for four days took her to VCA as they were the only ones open. Unfortunately VCA did what they do best - make matters worse. VCA was unorganized and couldn't clearly explain the next steps in the process to take care of my girl after she passed. They also could not, would not? give me much information.

Sorrento Valley Pet Cemetery was wonderful. Knowing my girl was picked up within 12 hours of passing (just happened to be a regular schedule) gave me reassurance she was in good hands and with people I could trust. I had a few phone calls with multiple staff members here after VCA dropped the ball. They were well-organized, timely, professional, compassionate, kind, and empathetic. Everything you need when handling a situation like this. They confirmed all of my information (which VCA had incorrect - because they never verified), confirmed all the sentimental pieces I ordered, and then compassionately placed a hold on my account and offered me a viewing of her since I was still out of town.

They did her up so well. Their business is in a good location, clean & beautifully kept interior, exterior, and cemetery. They even had a few dogs in the office which was a pleasant surprise. I called prior to leaving the house like they asked so they could appropriately set a viewing up for me. Upon arrival they directed me towards a small chapel where they had her. They had placed her upon a linen covered table, with a neat dog bed, and clean blanket. The room had mock stained glass, a candle, chairs, and tissue. They respected my time and privacy. I was a bit of a mess leaving. They offered me more time, the hold to remain on the account for processing her, and a beverage if it was wanted. They even called afterwards to confirm how I would like all 4 of her paw prints I ordered - as if she were standing or all individually.

Their automated text message is a little abrupt with the wording but it is straightforward to be clearly understood. In less than a week I am taking my best friend of 15 years home with me.

This company is great. My cat of 18 years passed away. The box and paw print both had his name engraved on it. His ink nose print was so well done. There communication throughout the whole process is amazing.

Could not be more grateful to Jerry and Sorrento Valley Pet Cemetery.
Last Saturday, we had to put our Lola Girl down. Even writing these words feels surreal. We are brokenhearted.
As you try to decide what is best for your pet friend, I want you to know that the kindness that was shown to us by Jerry knows no bounds.
Circumstances meant that we would not be at the Cemetery until 11:30 PM. I expected to have to wait when we got there, but Jerry was there waiting for us. He was kind and patient and comforting. He acted as if leaving his own family in the middle of the night to meet us was no problem at all.
When we initially spoke on the phone, he asked if I wanted a paw print. Since I was a mess and not very clear, he made one just to be safe. I was so grateful. (I actually had thought I would not want one, but I was so wrong! I love it.)
We asked to pick up Lola right away. Not only was she ready to be picked up the next day, they only charged us 1/2 the rush fee. The receipt said it was becuase they were able to adjust their schedule to include Lola.
They didn't have to tell us that, but instead, they gave us a discount.
This is the worst moment for all of us pet parents, but we were so blessed that we chose Sorrento Valley Pet Cemetery.
I just hope this review helps someone else as they are moving through such a difficult moment in time.

I lost my bearded dragon a few weeks ago and was recommended by a friend to bring my baby girl here. I am so thankful that she did because I had a wonderful experience, despite the sadness of the situation. The staff was welcoming and supportive (even when I embarrassingly broke down crying a few times in the lobby), and they gave me a lot of options to preserve my Beardie’s memory. They communicated with me through email and text and let me know right away that she was ready to be picked up. The bamboo box she was put in is very well made, and the body imprint they did of her claws and tail was just perfect! This time I cried happy tears being able to hold and touch a part of my Beardie again. I am happy to have my girl back home, and I’m glad that she was so well taken care of. Thank you again to the staff here for helping me and all the families who have lost a beloved pet.
