This was my second time at this place and both times the working staff were awesome! This time the technician was Dana and she was super friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, helpful, and made the stay/procedure a great experience. I experienced no noise and the bed was comfortable enough to sleep. I have zero complaints, I feel that Dana is a valuable asset to this company, and anyone going here will benefit by her ability to make the experience as pleasurable as it can be. I hope that the owners/management know and compensate her well for her value to their business.

I've read all the negative reviews and was having an anxiety attack about going. I took my boyfriend with me who used to be a professional reviewer.

1. The place is an old downtown house that was converted, Has gated parking in the back, and is located on a quiet street.
2. When we arrived the technician was friendly and very helpful answering questions. She informed us that she already have a room set up and we have an assign bathroom.
3. The room was clean, and to me seemed larger with a cot for my boyfriend to sleep on.
4. We told her about some of the negative reviews and was informed she and another employee running the place came from Bakersfield. The one tech slamming doors is gone. They been there about a month and trying to take care of all negative issues.
5. The bathroom wasn't 100% clean due to when you pull the paper towels they tear easily and small pieces fall to the floor. Or when toss at trash can it is miss. And people are lazy to pick them up or unable too. But to me it was cleaner then most public restrooms.
6. No matter where you are or even at home. Toilet when flush makes noise.
7. This is NOT A HOTEL it's a medical place to do a sleep test simple as that. I gave this 5 stars do to the technician friendliness, I was put at ease, my anxiety was gone and able to sleep the required hours. My boyfriend even slept which was a shock. His only one complaint, the coffee had donut shop pods instead of Don Francisco French Vanilla Nut pods LoL
8. Yes I will recommend this place.

The worst possible place I have maybe experienced in my healthcare journey. If there was a way to rate it with negative stats I would. The first time I went My clinician was James and he told me the next morning that I have sleep apnea but it is very mild. But when I was scheduled again Destiny was my clinician and she found out that I have both obstructive and central apnea and it’s not mild it’s severe. In total I have been there five times and they still can’t get it right. James is incompetent but pompous in the way only incompetent people are. Destiny was good but she left them and I can see why. The last time I specifically instructed them not to pair me with James but when I showed up there he was. I’m done with this place. I’m willing to drive an extra hour to go to Santa Maria just so I don’t have to deal with Rem diagnostics. What a nightmare

100% HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS: It's really unfortunate that this is the only place in SLO County where you can get the in-person sleep study done. While the actual technicians are very kind and thoughtful, the staff that solicits your study and make the reservation do not provide critical information. This company knows they are the only sleep study around and have trained staff to give you as little information as possible so that when you arrive you are set-up to fail. There are important things you need to be told about how to prepare yourself. If you're not told those things you'll fail your sleep study and have to retest which means REM Diagnostics gets to bill your insurance again and you get to provide another co-pay. I'm purposely leaving out the stuff that was not shared with me - that's their job - but know that there is a LOT MORE to successfully executing this study than "make sure you don't drink anything after 6pm" - which was THE ONLY direction I was given.

Here are the other issues:

1. The facility has paper-thin walls and way too much noise! Yes I know I'm not booking the Hilton, but the idea is to sleep right? I was woken up about every 5 minutes to doors slamming, technicians stamping up and down the halls, beeping microwaves right outside your door, the front doorbell ringing at all hours of the night, and on and on.

2. There is no private bathroom; patients wandering the building during the night - people trying to go to the bathroom, bumping into 1/2 asleep patients, walking into a common bathroom while someone is on the toilet. It's a joke!

3. The worst of the worse: At about 1:45am, the technician told me that I failed the study and would need to return, but said I had to stay there until 4am or be charged a $400 cancellation fee! So even though THEY KNEW my sleep study had passed the point of providing any useful information, I was held hostage until 4am. When I called a few days later to complain about these issues, they took no responsibility for anything, lied about telling me things they did not. When I asked to speak to the next level of management, I was told I would not be re-book and hung up on. That's just fine: the next time I'm going to research a 4-5 star location and just make a vacation out of it. Don't make the mistake I did - read the negative reviews and book somewhere that actually cares about patients.

They pack as many people as they physically can inside of a former house with vents everywhere with holes drilled throughout all of the walls with wires passing through.

My room was rather dirty, it had a window fan that was caked with dust and grime, there were two bathrooms adjacent to this room with power flush toilets that woke me up every time someone used them.

Technicians passed through my room and closed the doors loud enough to wake me up over and over again to get to what I can only assume was a supply closet.

People check in and have full volume conversations in the areas right next to your room, so if you check in first for the night you can expect noise for hours.

I was unable to complete the study because of all of the noise going on in this place, I'm beginning to think that was kind of the idea because now I have to do it again.

It's the only place in town, so they don't have to care or be polite. If you scroll down to see other reviews, the ones from Gregg Swoboda and Bakersfield Sleep Center are not legit. Gregg Swoboda is the owner of both REM Diagnostics and Bakersfield Sleep Center. It took a little digging to find that out because nowhere on either website does it say who ownership or staff is at either location. Both websites are basically the same thing. Gregg's brother Michael handles scheduling and speaks in a rude and condescending manner, zero customer service or people skills. He actually called my wife when I didn't respond soon enough to the first message he left me to schedule the sleep study, and told my wife my phone wasn't working. So she called me a little concerned, just to find out it's false and we were a little PO'd by that move. I let it go and scheduled a test with Michael. I had to cancel, called and left a message on their voicemail at 8:15am two days prior to my test. Michael calls me the next day to confirm my appointment. I told him I left a message the day prior to cancel and reschedule. He did not even acknowledge that until I told him the third time, after listening to his condescending lecture about notice and payments, cancellation fee, etc. I cancelled any rescheduled test and I will not be going there.

Sonny our technician was kind and efficient. He was patient and explained all the steps to my 8 year old daughter. Main bed was comfortable with great mattress. Only recommendation I have is to have white noise machines for us light sleepers. I used one on my cellphone so all was good.

This was my second study. First one was fine, although it took a long time (>4 weeks) to get results. Different tech for the second study. This time I was supposed to be getting fitted and tested for CPAP. The tech put the mask on me and left the room. No tips on how to make it more comfortable, only that she would put a more restrictive device on me if I breathed through my mouth. As I tossed and turned I got more tangled up in all of the wires and tubes. Tech didn't respond when I "talked to the speaker" as she instructed me to do. I was afraid to relax and fall asleep lest the more restricted mask be applied. I doubt there was any good data collected and if my doctor wants another test I will refuse.
