Let’s start with the good—because there’s a lot of it! The food here is delicious. Like, really delicious. The butter chicken was rich, flavorful, and honestly better than anything I’ve had in Bakersfield. You can tell they know what they’re doing in the kitchen.

But here’s the catch… my excitement was short-lived when I opened my takeout container and saw exactly four lonely pieces of chicken swimming in that buttery, spicy goodness. And for $29 (including naan), I had to do a double take. I get that they’re the only Indian restaurant in Tehachapi, but are we paying for the food or the exclusivity?

I grabbed my order to-go while passing through since we had been meaning to try this place for a while. And honestly, despite the portion shock, I’d still come back because the food is authentically good. Looking at other reviews, it seems like some people got bigger portions, so maybe it was just an off day?

Final thoughts: If you’re craving great Indian food in Tehachapi, this is the spot (literally, the only spot). But be prepared to pay premium prices for not-so-premium portions. That said, the flavors alone are worth a second chance. We’ll be back to see if our next visit is a redemption arc!

Would I recommend it? Yes. But bring your wallet… and maybe manage your expectations on portion size.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would! The food was delicious! The customer service was awesome. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. When getting spice level, 3 has a kick so, 1 or 2 might be best! Their rice pudding was also super delicious. Naan bread was good, samosa was good too!

Very nice Indian restaurant in the middle of nowhere! We had Chicken Biriyani, Garlic Naan, Gobi Manjurian and Karahi Chicken. All taste so good!

First time there. Friends invited me to watch football. The bar was pretty empty, which I sorta liked. 5 TVs? Our bartender Victor . Great guy and on top of things. The bar food. Wings, I'll say the best in town

We love Prime Bar and grill. We went tonight for Valentine's Dinner as a family and couldn't be more pleased. The food was excellent, as always, the place was buzzing with patrons and the staff was so attentive. Our server Hussan, was just lovely. So kind, answering questions and making sure we were happy. She even took a photo for us at the cute Valentine's back drop they had set up. This wasn't our first time and it won't be our last.
P.s the butter chicken is killer! Be sure to pair it with some triple cheese or garlic Naan bread.

As a first timer to Indian cuisine, I don't have another experience to measure with... However, the food was definitely a winner and the service is excellent. I had the chicken curry among other meals the two days in town and all was well worth it.
