I had been going to one stylist for the last year with no issues but she recently became a first time Mommy and was not yet booking any appointments. I found “Melz” through Sola Salon and scheduled my appointment as a first time customer on Feb 3. The appointment was set 10 days in advance for Feb 13 at 8:30am which was a couple of days before my vacation. She let me know she would need to have a consultation first to determine if she would be able to accomplish the look I wanted. This was totally understandable to me as most stylists do this in order to do a swatch test and ensure the look will be possible and give a more definitive answer for pricing. I am currently a Ginger (professionally done - not box dyed) and wanted to transition to a Dual Color block. The right side of my hair would go back to my natural 2B brown and the left side would transition into Peach and eventually platinum blonde so as to not damage my hair. She sent out an email confirmation on Feb 10. I confirmed I was still able to make it to my appointment. She then cancelled the day before my appointment on Feb 12 stating she “didn’t feel comfortable.” No consultation, no swatch test, and no time at all for me to try to find another stylist before my trip. I had placed PTO at work for this appointment and was unable to cancel. She completely wasted my time. If you’re looking to book with someone who is completely unprofessional and so unsure of herself that she will cancel on you the day before without even meeting— Book with Melz!

I love Melanie! I go get trims by her every 3 months she always knows the perfect amount to cut. I recently got a balayage from her and it’s everything I was expecting. She is also the sweetest with reasonable prices.
