For years, I have renewed my vehicle's tag at this government office. It has always been a good experience even when customer service was not as efficient as it is now. But on Tuesday or Wednesday this week, teller #4 around 11: 00 changed my perspective. The young lady servicing me made a simple procedure trying, frustrating, and degrading. First, she questioned if I was the person listed on the renewal paper. Then, she said I must verify my retirement because all they have on file was a copy of my teaching I.D. She needed additional proof of my retirement. What How am I supposed to do that? I retired three years ago. I didn't bring that paperwork with me. Sure, I needed that paperwork during the initial change, but not sense then. But today, you say I need proof again. I always come to this office, which is required by law to renew my tag. I didn't receive any notification that I should bring that paperwork with me at this time. What is going on? Long story short, we (me, her, and her supervisor) went back and forth. Thank God, Decatur City Schools Payroll Department stepped in and helped me resolve this matter. After calling them, they quickly sent over paperwork to verify my credentials. This was not a simple task. They had to go to the Personnel Office to get my paperwork and fax this information to the License Office. Thank you, Decatur City School Payroll. You helped me in my time of topsy-turvy world.

Well today I was in that office and the service was very good.
And they gave me the temporary license at once and the permanent license arrives at my house in less than 30 days.
I am very grateful to the people who assisted us. Since they showed special tolerance with people who are not completely bilingual.

My visit here today to get my vehicle tags and driver's license renewed was the best I have ever encountered at a government office. They have a check in system that really streamlines the renewal process. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes including getting tags renewed and driver's license renew. Everyone I encountered was very friendly.

I've been here a few times and each time the ladies working have been super nice and helpful. They are busy but still to do great at getting things moved along. A rare example of government service that is actually working smoothly and with good service!! Thank you!!
