Update 12/20/24: Upon final removal of the nails, I saw how poor this nail service truly was. The acrylic was extremely thick. After acrylic removal, I have divets in my nail from how deep they were drilled to the point 2 of my nails broke midway. So, i have a break line like in the middle of 2 of my nails. Very painful lesson learned. Also, it should be asked of the client if they want a student working on their nails not told to them. My nails are extremely sensitive in this area where they were clearly drilled too deep on both hands. I should have spoken up at the time when I thought the drill pad may have been too rough for the amount of drilling that was done.

I waited to write this review because I regret to share my experience. I was very disappointed in how a customer's time is not respected. I sincerely hope my experience was a one off. I spent 4hrs in this nail salon for a soak off and natural nail overlay. As a walk in, I might have understood 2 hours, but 4? Also, just for argument sake, if it wasn't exactly 4hrs, why would it take anything close to that and without a prior heads up. I get the intent was probably to make sure everyone is serviced, but, not informing the customer of the extended time it could take especially when asked is not being respectful of the customer's time. We weren't given the opportunity to decide if we wanted to spend our time waiting in this way. I had 2 prior bad nail quality experiences from 2 other nail shops prior and was hoping this would be a better, especially after it's recommendation. I will be traveling to and through Birmingham often so I really was hopeful this nail salon could be a regular stop for me. Im nervous to give a 2nd attempt after the amount of time taken on my first visit without any apology or acknowledgment of the extreme amount of time spent.... maybe this is normal, I don't know. This sort of issue makes me struggle to recommend this business. I don't want to have to put any disclaimers. I really hope for the next customers that my experience was a one off.
On a more positive note, the atmosphere is nice, the shop owner is nice, the student onsite was nice. The quality of work and work ethic by both were respectable. I had a couple things I wanted to point out about my nails to the owner but did not want to lose anymore of my time. I'll post pics of my nails shortly.

My wife and I both had pedicures. The best pedicure I've ever had. She took her time, my legs were massaged and overall a great experience.

Went here while in town for a wedding. My nail tech, Leslie, was super sweet and friendly, and I appreciated how she took the time to educate me about some of the things she was doing and using on my nails!

Unfortunately however, my gel polish started to warp/chip within a week.

Two days after the appointment, the polish on my left pinky bubbled up in the center. A couple days later, my left middle finger chipped in the corner. And today, the polish on my right index finger peeled up across the middle. Disappointing given the price paid for the service.

In most working industry nail salons they have more than 2 workers and I understand low staff very much. But when it comes to appointment that was booked and CONFIRMED by the business, I expect to be serviced upon entry of my appointment time, not 1 hour after. My sister walked in at 2:04 for her 2:05 appointment and the white girl asked if she had an appointment and she said “Yes at 2:05”. Why is my sister sitting in the salon with nothing done at 2:55? Actually they didn’t even pay attention to her because the black girl “Oh sorry I didn’t even know you had an appointment”… WHAT?!! Lack of communication between coworkers because why didn’t the other tech know she had an appt? Does the white girl sit there for no reason I thought she was putting me on this shop because of the customer service. Absolutely not. The work is great but it’s more appreciated and empathized when the business has knowledge of how their customers book appointments and show the customers they are behind or maybe something happened that day for things to be delayed… how was my sister suppose to know that things were delayed unless she sat and waited for so long The techs should have said they were behind as soon as she walked in and gave her the opportunity of whether she wanted to waste her time there or not. Not just have her sitting knowing she has an appointment and the workers aren’t even aware. A nail salon on FRIDAY with the 2 workers should not even be open. It’s summer time let’s be fr.
