Excellent service and super friendly staff! They were all professional and knowledgeable. It was a great experience for my daughter and I! They also decorated the office so beautifully for the holiday season, and it smelled nice! We were welcomed in when we arrived, and we were provided with quick and efficient service. Please avoid this place by all means as they over prescribe treatment using processes not covered by insurance. I have Delta Dental insurance with great coverage. I have been to other dental offices for years without problems. However, this office claims that I need procedures that other offices didn't propose. They also want to use laser procedures that are not covered by the insurance, which would be out of my own pocket. Find a good honest office for yourself and avoid this office.

Dr. Lagda and her team (Tanya, Josh, Bella) really listen and understand their patients. They are a pleasure to see. They all do their best to provide the best dental care possible.

I had a great experience at Gentle Dental Sorrento Valley. The staff was incredibly polite and responsive, accommodating me even without a prior appointment. The doctor who assisted me was particularly attentive, making sure the adjustment I needed was done perfectly. They took the time to listen to all of my concerns, and I left feeling well taken care of. I highly recommend Gentle Dental Sorrento Valley for their excellent customer service and professional care.

Don’t ever go here! Terrible experience for an eval. They claim $0 but they still submitted to insurance and then tried to charge us. They pass you off and try to avoid talking to you about charges. Then they try to charge you for work that wasn’t performed. Shady, shady business practices.

in response to the owners reply, I have tried to contact the number provided only to be put on hold for long periods of time, one time telling me to "keep being patient, maybe 5 more minutes". 12 minutes later, after being on for a total of 26 minutes, I was asked to give my information and just as I began reading my phone number I was told, "please wait", put "on hold" and promptly hung up on. I deserve a call and you hav my number....if not, you lose my business and hopefully patients who see this review think twice. They may help you and I pray they do. But chances are, you are are NOT going to be happy. And as a side note, the older white lady who assists the dentist thinks she is a dentist, is as mean a person I have met and who made several negative comments about the doctor, including looking over at one of her assistants and saying, "she just won't admit she can't see anymore". GREAT THING to hear 5 min before a serious operation.

I have osteomyelitis, which causes bone loss and I went in to find a solution. Without going into a long dissertation, the dentist needs to brush up on how to number teeth. I went in to get (4) teeth removed and get the partial dentures i paid for. The dentist told her assistant and yelled to the front desk the wrong (4) numbers…it took me asking if the partial dentures were wrong before they checked (this was literally minutes before pulling my teeth out, starting with one of my FRONT teeth). The dentist and the assistant had a debate about the partial and when i finally asked if the denture was right , I was told that they wouldn’t operate because I was too “nervous”. I was able to take my partial with me (the one I paid for), only because I was able to get back into the room; they were unwilling to give it to me!

It’s sad that we have dentists who pray on the economically disadvantaged…accepting things like mediCal not to help those without money but as a means to bill the state for services they’re not providing. Had I not “forgotten “ my hat in the operating room, I wouldn’t have my partial which means they could say just about anything; the second they realized I had it (right after smiling ear to ear and telling me I couldn’t get a refund because “the partial denture was already made”) they came running out asking for it back. Why would you need a partial denture, fitting only my mouth and paid for 15 minutes before, back?

Do your research. Don’t trust anything they say. I would be writing this review without a front tooth if I did not ask if the mistake the “dentist” made carried on to the ordering of my partial dentures. The dentist was literally going to charge me more $ to pull out a perfectly fine tooth, to make a partial denture fit. It’s sad.
This will more than likely be the catalyst to uncovering mediCal fraud (allegedly) which will be a positive but until then, do not go here.

If you find yourself there and you have no other option, do your own research and ASK QUESTIONS. This office loves to get you in and out. Turn and burn. If you’re willing to yank a front tooth out before checking if the partial denture will fit, what are you willing to do when the patient is under sedation and nobody is there to ask questions?

Make sure you’re getting a dentist who cares about more than just money…..

Ending on a positive note… the office was empty.

The “dentist” is HORRIBLE. She doesn’t know how to number teeth and her “white devil” comment is on recording (as was 90% of the interaction). The office x-ray equipment is literally from the 70s. The Carter administration! But yeah, they care SO MUCH. All the delays and reschedules (it’s usually the patients that reschedule. Not the office. Not here. READ REVIEWS!) are because they hire unqualified workers and don't properly train them. You CAN’T train when you yourself don’t know how to do the work. The blind leading the blind.

* 2/4/2025 8a for my regular 3-month tooth cleaning routine. There was no waiting time and the office is pleasant. The hygienist Rosalie and the manager Bella followed the great routine for my gum checked and teeth thoroughly cleaned. I wish that my limited insurance could cover the recommended 1 mg antibiotics insert. Gentle Dental Sorrento Valley gave me a great dental care. Thanks.
* 11/12/2024 8:30a being in the dental office to complete putting on the new ceramic crown (better quality than my previous ceramic/metal crown) on my tooth #31; the new crown fits well without any other adjustments needed. The new ceramic crown's good fitting is probably starting from the initial computer imaging and better quality crown making technologies. Thanks to Dr. Evelyn Lagada's expertise; also thanks the administrator Bella for making my new crown procedure completed smoothly. The dental procedures and equipment are all up to the current technologies and done well by the book.

The office and facility are quite, comfortable and pleasant as usual.

* 10/29/2024 10 a.m. for tooth cleaning appointment: All office employees have been very friendly, the facility has always been very nice as usual. Due to my insurance plans' limited coverage, I did need to decline the addition of antibiotics medication (costing $80 extra) that the hygienist suggested for this tooth cleaning visit. The hygienist seemed busier today that my tooth cleaning final step of applying tooth paste for polishing tooth surface needed to be completed by another office assistant. I hope that my dental insurance plans can cover my dental services more thoroughly in the future, so that I don't need to discuss the dental service pricing each time during my dental appointment. Thanks.

* 4/16/24: I got into Gentle Dental Sorrento Valley office today, 4/16/24, for my tooth deep cleaning with additional laser dental cleaning procedure appointment at 9 a.m. I got into the office about 20 minutes earlier, and within 10 minutes the hygienist Rosalie brought me into the tooth cleaning office. The office Manager Bella and the front office Josh were very helpful in my check-in.

The tooth cleaning tasks were completed in 1.5 hours with great experience for me. The hygienist Rosalie explained all tasks clearly, by the book, and in needed detail; Her skills are experienced and smooth. I felt that Rosalie is quite devoted to the cleaning tasks and her technique is quite smooth.

I am very thankful to Rosalie, Josh and Bella to provide such an excellent dental services with care, devotion and well equipped office tools.
