After dinner, we stumbled upon this hidden gem and were absolutely blown away! Despite my attempt to cut down on sugar and feeling quite full from dinner, I couldn't resist trying the gelato here. Everything is made fresh in-house, and they use separate scooping spoons for each flavor to prevent cross-contamination. The flavors were vibrant and absolutely delicious! My husband and I shared the truffle gelato, and we both agreed that it was even better than the much pricier chocolate sundae we had at Ghirardelli's the other day. We highly recommend stopping by—this was hands down the best ice cream we had in Santa Monica!

I recommend never buying just one flavor because with double the amount of ice cream you only pay a dollar more: two flavors are better!

Very good gelato with outrageously large portions at $7.50 for 3 scoops (about a pint). Loads of public parking about 200 ft away for $1.25. They have about 20 options with 4 vegan, allow sampling and have ample outdoor seating.

They have also won multiple awards for being the best frozen dessert shop and most loved small business in Santa Monica, and I can see why they got it :).

Of the ones we had, my favorites were the dark chocolate sorbet, ricotta & fig and wild berry.

I visited Dolcenero Gelato on Main Street in Santa Monica last night to celebrate my son's birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. My son’s favorite flavor, strawberry, was removed from the display just before we ordered, despite my request to keep it. I asked the employee to hold off on removing it, but she ignored me. When I voiced my frustration about the situation, the employee was not only dismissive but downright rude, showing no regard for my concerns.

However, I want to commend the owner of Dolcenero Gelato for his response. After speaking with him this morning, he immediately acknowledged that the employee was in the wrong and apologized for the incident. To my surprise, the owner went above and beyond, personally delivering a large container of strawberry gelato to my home in the afternoon as a gesture of goodwill and an apology for the poor service we received.

This level of commitment to customer satisfaction is rare, and while the initial experience was far from acceptable, the owner’s actions were a true testament to his care for his customers. I won’t let one rude employee overshadow the dedication of the owner, and I look forward to giving Dolcenero another chance.

My friend and I stumbled on this place accidentally and now it's become a staple for whenever we visit Venice Beach. The friendly staff, decadent gelato, and chic vibes makes it the perfect place to meet up with friends. I love that they have vegan options as well.

Came on a stroll down to Santa Monica with my wife and dogs, not far from where we parked off pico and ocean. Got a large cup 3 flavors, mango raspberry and coconut. All were awesome! Wife had tiramisu and strawberry. Also ordered a two macchiatos for $2.50 each which was awesome price. Lounged right outside in the small patio out front. Great find!

When I go on vacation, I have a rule for myself to never eat at the same place twice, and that's simply because I love trying new places and I want to experience the breadth of cuisine an area has to offer. This gelato shop caused me to break my rule. The gelato here is some of the best I've ever had, and easily the best dessert I've had during my trip to Los Angeles. The wide selection is flawlessly rich and the flavors are bold and dynamic. The fig and ricotta, which I got twice, is their flagship and one taste will demonstrate why. Lastly, price is incredibly reasonable compared to most anywhere else and the amount you get is generous. If you are even the slightest fan of gelato/ice cream, you need to come here to experience perfection.
