Atmosphere… it’s in the Northgate Mall which is like saying you put Heaven in the middle of nowhere… but hey! Look at the bright side! This place makes the whole mall 1000000 percent better! Great tasting gelato that is not chalky. Flavors are always changing but they have some that are always available, like chocolate and vanilla. I hope they can find a lease somewhere better but until then, I’m glad it’s only 1 mile from our home.

If you’re looking for dessert/gelato/something sweet in San Rafael, Daily Recess Gelato located in the Northgate Mall is a nice place to enjoy a sweet treat! It’s located in the food court so you don’t have to worry about being outside and it has a cute store front and they make their gelato in house and the menu changes per month! I heard their brown buttered pecan is very popular and so good! I got a pomegranate rose and peppermint bark split scoop on a waffle cone. The cone was so yummy and crunchy! The peppermint bark reminded me of a mint chocolate chip and I wanted to balance it with something tarty. So they do have vegan/non-dairy flavors as well. Service was great, the workers were super friendly! The store is open mall hours so if you’re shopping nearby, def give it a try!

This is a hidden gem! They just opened and I am so excited to have them in the neighborhood.
The flavors are so unique and delicious.
The owners were there and are so friendly and welcoming. I think I sampled all the flavors and ended up with a cup of Pumpkin spiced latte w hazelnuts and had the krispies and salty caramel toppings.
I will definitely go back and I highly recommend!

Gelato is AMAZING! We tried all of the flavors (definitely recommend!) and butter pecan, sea salt chocolate sorbet & pomegranate sorbet were the favorites, although all were delicious 🙂

Best gelato I’ve had in a long time. The Ricotta Fig Jam is a knockout and I highly recommend trying it. I also had the Butterscotch Pecan which was also delicious but liked the Ricotta fig jam the best!

Amazing. Best ice cream or gelato in Marin, hands down. Reasonably priced and amazing flavors. The people who run it were so sweet.

Great gelato flavors! I like the secret flavor, but ended up going with the PB pretzel and scoop of the sea salt dark chocolate. Will be back.

The ice cream here is great and the owners are super nice. Apparently they change their flavors based on what’s available at the farmers market so they have more normal ones like triple vanilla but also fun ones like pumpkin spice latte and maple waffle.

The two owners were both chefs in Michelin restaurants- and it shows. The ice cream tasted high quality and not cheap or fake.
