I was recommended to see Mimi by a friend and I think that was the best decision I had made for my fine line tattoo! The place was lovely with interesting artifacts and cool bug taxidermy…it is one of my favorite past time and the place immediately resonated with me…super cool!!
I then met Mimi and I absolutely loved her! I have been chatting with her on the designs and throughout the process she has been honest and so supportive…traits that led me to trust her fully!! When I met her she put me at ease and we chatted and had some good laughs, it was as though we have known each other for a long time!! She is a phenomenal artist and her fine line work was not only gorgeous but she did them very efficiently!! She made sure to follow up on the after care and asked me to send her pictures of my tattoos healing…very very caring indeed!! I highly recommend her and I am so looking forward to working with Mimi again! Thank you Black Serum tattoo and thank you dear Mimi!!

The facility was easy to find, nicely decorated and very clean. Shona was amazing! Not only was she professional, kind, easy to communicate with, but she is insanely talented. She designed and administered my first tattoo and I love everything about it! Highly recommend her!

I got a tattoo from hot honey tattoos, Courtney!!! And it’s absolutely amazing. She drew up my childhood stuffed bear and the finished tattoo is incredible and better than I ever could’ve imagined!! The whole experience was comfortable and inviting. 10/10 recommend Courtney!

Absolutely loved my experience with Katya (FennecFoxTattoos). She was very easy to work with even though I threw a last minute curveball and asked her to update the design. She was also very patient during placement. Tattoo process was quick and painless! I was able to bring my headphones and they have comfy pillows and blankets. The salon itself is very clean and stylish. Afterwards Katya gave me an aftercare package and followed up with instructions. I would give 10 starts if I could. No only she is a wonderful person but also a very talented artist. I 100% recommend her and Black Serum! Tattoo on the picture is done only few day ago but already looks healed!

I typically get my ink done outside of the Bay just because it’s closer to me. However I am incredibly grateful to have met Shona (@SkeletonVelvet) at a music festival this year. They had invited myself and a friend to come out to Black Serum for some Halloween flash this year, and words cannot describe the atmosphere at this shop. The shop owner was handing out (non-alcoholic) beverages to all the clients getting work done (while also sharing kind words), all of the artists were extremely kind, and the work was incredible. Cannot wait to get some more pieces done here!

I've had multiple tattoos here and this shop is my favorite in SF. My go to artist is Skeletonvelvet, all the work they've done on me is incredible and their original artwork. The tattoos turned out amazing (I literally cant be out in public now without someone complimenting). The sessions were very comfortable, the shop environment is calm and aesthetically pleasing.. If you want a unique piece of art on your body, this is the spot!
