Barrio Modern Mexican Cuisine is very delicious Mexican with an awesome tasting modern flare! We loved the ambiance. Justin and Michelle are delightful and they make some great Mexican plates! Definitely a step up for Huntsville and Athens areas. You have to try their three taco plates that come with delicious rice and beans. Really cool restaurant! See you next time, Barrio!

Finally got a chance to check this place out Saturday. They do brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. I got the tacos; Street steak, Street chicken and the 'prawn' (shrimp). Husband got cheese enchiladas. Margaritas were great as well . Everything was absolutely amazing! I got a tres leches to go and that was great also. The owner is super nice, I love the set up inside. There are plants and other decor that's just pleasing to look at. One big thing I noticed that will definitely have me recommending this place to everyone.. I didn't have that heavy feeling in my gut hours after eating, which is almost unheard of for me.. That tells me this food is excellent quality. I will definitely be back and can't wait to try other things.

Barrio was fantastic. I’m visiting from Charleston but will definitely be coming here again! Justin, Executive Chef and Erica our server were very personable and fun! The food was Amazing! We tried almost everything on the menu. Highlights were Asada, Plantains, Calamari and Margaritas! Soooo good! Y’all need to try ASAP!

I decided to try Barrio’s for a girls night out. The chef/owner came out and was amazing. He gave us a plate of the different sauces to try, explained the dishes. The food was amazing. This is not your run of the mill Mexican. The flavors and care put into each dish are amazing. The cocktails weren’t bad either. I would highly recommend you go check it out. I am pretty sure any dish you order will be amazing!!!

My family and I went here on a random Sunday afternoon after hearing good things from friends. So glad we went. There is really nothing like it in the area, not even close. You can tell by the attention to detail in the place settings of the tables that it’s different, everything is perfectly placed and ready for you. We got some drinks, the mezcal mule and the habanero margarita were incredible. Chips and salsa were freshly made and delicious, complimentary of course. The gauc, top tier. I had the Asada and it was possibly the best steak dish I’ve had from a restaraunt, and I’ve had a lot of steak. Then, we met Justin, the owner and chef. You could tell how much he cares about the food and the experience that his guests have. There wasn’t a single thing to complain about. This is not a standard tex-mex restaraunt, so if you want that, go somewhere else. Seriously, there’s a million other places that do that very well. This is legit elevated mexican, everything is from scratch, and it is special. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Also, get the flan.

Amazing Mexican food that you can tell is made with care, love and a passion for quality food. It's worth the drive to the Madison "countryside", trust me. If your idea of Mexican cuisine is the same tasting ground protein but in different shapes (taco, burrito, enchilada, ...) then you're in for an awakening. I've been coming since they opened and always have a great meal. It's not an extensive menu, and that's not a bad thing. There's enough choices for all tastes. I've tried all of the tacos, my favorite are the Gone Fishing, Rocket City, and The Free Ranger. I usually get the tacos but have also enjoyed the Pollo Mole. I was excited when they started serving brunch on the weekends. I had the Huevos Rancheros, which I highly recommend. I can't forget the cocktails, their signature margarita is on point (and the 2oz pour is a nice touch). Finally, Chef Justin is a pleasure to chat with and (when he's not busy in the kitchen) enjoys taking about the food and his story. It's a nice touch to feel like you know who's behind the food and business. I can't recommend Barrio enough!
