everybody here made me love everything about my labor experience, from the moment i came in, to the moment i left. every person i interacted with whether they were my nurse or not was extremely kind and caring. Dr. Azad is amazing and i couldnt be anymore thankful she was the one to deliver my baby. all the nurses that took care of me, my partner, and my baby were extremely great, they were kind, caring, careful, and they just went above and beyond to help me enjoy my experience, they even inspired me to start looking into nursing!! they truly make their job look easier than it really is and i am more than grateful for everyone that took care of me.

If this is your first pregnancy and/or you’ve never gone anywhere else for your pregnancy, you may be satisfied. However if you have used another practice for your pregnancy then you will quickly realize that el Camino women’s is awful. To start, they are highly disorganized. You’ll get two different answers for the same issue in-person, then multiple people will follow-up with you via different methods ie phone, email and on the platform saying completely different things. They have no idea of healthcare policies or laws and will make up their own rules. Don’t ever question them though or their ego will get hurt and they’ll hold it against you. Better yet, avoid them completely. The Bay Area midwives and Kaiser are great alternatives.

This is in regards to my past visits at El Camino Women's and the follow up care I have received after having a miscarriage. TLDR: staff is HORRIBLE AND CARELESS. I was told to stop crying (1 day after miscarrying) in their waiting room bc I was upsetting the other patients while not being allowed to wait somewhere else. Mistakes in labs, vaccines, doctors unavailable. HORRIBLE. AVOID THEM.

1. When I took the Anora test, I was in shock, crying and shaking. I asked one of the assistants to help with the test because I was confused by the instructions. She answered, "Just read what's there; it doesn't matter." I read the instructions and still had questions; my husband asked for help, but NO help was received. I told this person, "I did this wrong. Can I get a new kit?" She responded, "No, it doesn't matter." How am I supposed to trust a person like that? She TOUCHED the swab when the test said it should not be moved for 15 minutes. How can I trust the results now? This was a terrible day for me, and this test will be a financial investment that I can't really trust.

2. When trying to coordinate my husband's Natera test, the person I talked to on the phone said, "You can pick it up, or we can send a kit."  I said that my husband would pick it up the next day. What happens next? There was an error, and the kit was mailed TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. We called the office to clear this up, but no one had answers or a record of what had happened. He was told he would get a saliva test, and they sent something else.

3. When asking about my labs, the person who called me yesterday said, "NO, I did not need to retake the progesterone test," even though I clearly read the doctor's commentary on the past lab results. It took me repeating and reading the doctor's comments VERBATIM to her so she could realize that she had misread the instructions. (Xiomara, the worst medical assistant I have encountered)

4. When asking about the timing for my labs, Xiomara said, "It's up to you; it really doesn't matter." I didn't feel convinced, so I sent a message to the doctor and she just responded to my question saying that in fact, timing DID matter. Had I trusted Xiomara, I would have wasted my time and money, making a painful process more painful than it has to be.
5. I was sobbing in the waiting room 1 day after miscarrying, and Xiomara told me to stop because I was upsetting the other patients. I asked if I could wait in the car because the waiting room was full of happy, pregnant women (nothing against them) and that was making me feel worse. She said no. Waiting in the car would be considered a no-show, and I would forfeit my appointment. So I waited for the doctor, sobbing, receiving dirty looks from Xiomara.

I want to be clear: I am NOT blaming anyone for miscarrying, that's life, but how the staff handles doubts and simple questions has much room for improvement. Further, lacking empathy from the staff is horrible. Doctors might be ok but their staff are an extension of their care, and the staff is HORRIBLE.

Ive been going to them since my first pregnancy and really like how everyone is so caring especially Liney she at the front desk. I really take into consideration how as soon as I walk in the door she recognizes returning patients and has them already checked in. It shows how she is an attentive, caring and polite person. As to doctors Dr. Amy Teng is the best would really recommend her if anyone is looking for a good OB shes the one. She’s delivered all three of my kids and never have had a problem really nice and caring but also I feel really comfortable talking to her about my concerns which is a big plus for me. In general everyone is very welcoming but Liney and Dr. Teng are the one’s why I keep coming back.

Dr. Balassiano was great and for that reason I would drive 40min for this clinic. Even after having a huge issue with Dr. Gupta during my labor (Today I know that I should have sued her), I decided to continue even after all of that.
Dr. Dorismond started being my new dr but that lasted only ONE appointment as it doesn’t seem like she has a lot of experience, among other issues.
I was with this clinic for over 5 years because of Dr. Balassiano but not anymore. They don't care about their patients.

They systematically make people wait. I usually go in a bit early so noone has to wait for me, and every single time they make me wait between 40 mins and 1 hour over the scheduled time. They show no intention of correcting this and have no respect for people's time.

Because of how the system is set up, you will not know who will be on call for your baby. Dr. Gupta was horrible to me and my husband. She used scare tactics when I was 10 weeks pregnant to do genetic testing and said it was “free” in California. We found out a year later that it is not free and we were faced with tons of bills. She also called the hospital WITHOUT my consent to schedule an induction a week before due date. When the nurse called me to confirm I told her I did not consent to this and she told me not to come in. She of course was the on call doctor. Her attitude towards me was very rude which made the nurses also insanely rude to me as well while I was in labor. I liked the other doctors. However, Gupta was absolutely HORRIBLE. I would never ever go here or recommend it to anyone just because of the chance you might have her for care. And she does not care for you. She only cares to make money.

I was seeing Dr. Azad and Dr. Teng delivered my baby via c section. Dr. Teng is a wonderful provider and person. My c section scar has healed up perfectly and ECWG has followed up with me many times and has been very supportive of any needs I may have. Dr. azad is also lovely and she is very informative and provided a lot of education at every appointment.
Sajal is also the advice nurse and she is a sweetheart. She called to congratulate me and ask if I needed anything and was folllwing up. She replied to every email very quickly.

The MAs and girls at the front desk are also incredibly helpful as well!
