After shopping for a new Outback in Sacramento and finding the buying experience less than satisfying at two dealerships, we called Shingle Springs Subaru after closing time on a Saturday night and the General Manager answered. He was just great - answered all our questions and told us what he had in stock and what was in transit. We made the drive up to Shingle Springs on Sunday and we were greeted and helped by a friendly, cheerful and helpful sales person. We quickly agreed on price and decided to buy an Outback that was in transit. No cash deposit was needed and we were pleasantly surprised when the car came in a week early. When we picked up the car the process was easy and enjoyable. Everyone from the GM to the sales person and the finance manager were quite pleasant and easy to work with. We realized that going to a smaller dealership with staff who are willing to earn our business was well worth the 45 min drive from Davis to Shingle Springs.

Brandon in the service department is awesome! I brought in my car with multiple concerns that were quoted to me from a different shop. The report they gave me was very comprehensive and included high quality videos and pictures. Brandon walked me through each service and was honest with me on which were higher priorities. When I told him that my brother can fix most things on my car and that I was going to ask him first before committing, he supported me and didn’t try to scare me into getting any service immediately like most other repair shops. I ended up getting some part quotes for my own repairs, and got the messy repairs done here. The best part of this dealer is they always do the inspection and fluid top off, as well as an outside wash and window wash complimentary.

Bonus points for the VERY cool Forester and Brat in the waiting area.

We had a great experience at Shingle Springs Subaru. We originally went in only to get an offer on our 2019 Crosstrek trade-in for comparison before visiting another dealership that offers a discount to Costco members.

We arrived early for our appointment and wandered the lot to look at the Outback models. Our salesman, Tim Gonzalez, met us on the lot and gave us useful info on the features of the various models to help us narrow our focus.

While the service department evaluated our car we talked with Tim about our intentions to get a price from the other (further away) dealer. He said he thought he could make a competitive offer and save us a trip. Our trade-in offer was modest but with the discount off MSRP factored in we felt it was a good deal and bought a 2025 Outback.

Could we have gotten a better price elsewhere? Maybe, but we liked Tim and felt he would be a continuing ally at the dealer. We prefer to buy where we can get the car serviced and to support businesses in our county. We also appreciate that this dealer is actively involved in services to the community.
